Consultation has concluded.

We’re upgrading the Castle Hill Showground Arena! The project will enhance the existing elliptical open space by transforming it into a more versatile grassed field with an integrated natural amphitheatre and spectator seating for a broad range of events. A new perimeter loop path will support passive recreation and improve pedestrian access from the nearby Metro to the Showground, and beyond. New canopy trees, landscaping and outdoor furniture will help shape the arrival experience, and the existing gravel road will be replaced and parking formalised.

We want to hear from you! Take part in our survey to help us gain a better understanding of current visitation habits and why you love visiting the Castle Hill Showground Arena.

By participating, you may enter for a chance to win one of four $50 eGift Cards.

Project Background

The Hills Shire is growing rapidly. According to the NSW Government's own population forecasts, The Hills Shire's population will increase by 71% from 192,660 people in 2019 to approximately 328,635 people by 2041. This growth will continue beyond 2041, and it is important that Council plans today for the needs of our community well into the future.

As our population grows, so too does demand for community infrastructure. The Castle Hill Showground Arena upgrade will transform the Aub Juleff Arena and surrounds into a flexible, highquality outdoor space that supports everyday community use while also accommodating major events and activations. It aims to enhance and build on the arena's 130-year history. Upon completion, existing users will be able to continue utilising the Arena, but it will also provide opportunities for other site uses and deliver improved every-day community use.

The upgraded Arena will act as a central feature of the Castle Hill Showground precinct, helping to meet the needs of our growing community now and into the future.

Funding for the Castle Hill Showground Arena Upgrade and Refurbishment project has been secured through the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program. The project will ultimately modernise the existing recreational infrastructure, enhance site functionality, and improve accessibility and user experience, while ensuring compliance with current standards and guidelines.
