In accordance with Council’s resolution on 14 October 2025 (Item 5), the draft Glenorie Place Strategy (draft Place Strategy) and a supplementary draft Background Investigations Paper (draft Paper) are on exhibition from Monday, 20 October 2025 to Monday, 1 December 2025.

The project is an action in Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS), which states that Council will ‘Investigate opportunities for limited residential expansion in rural villages in line with the criteria recommended in the Rural Strategy 2019’.

The draft Glenorie Place Strategy establishes a vision and blueprint for modest growth and revitalisation of the village, including potential changes to planning controls, infrastructure improvements and objectives for the public domain and enhancement of local character.

It builds on the strategic work and policies of Council and the NSW Government, as well as detailed investigations into Glenorie’s unique features, role and function, environmental constraints and capacity to service new development. The draft Place Strategy should be read in conjunction with the supporting Background Investigations paper and technical studies (which are also available as part of the public exhibition).

Drop-in Sessions and Workshop

Various consultation “drop-in” sessions are scheduled throughout the course of the exhibition period which the community and other stakeholders are welcome to attend and discuss the draft Place Strategy with officers of Council’s Forward Planning Team.

Council has also scheduled an independent facilitated workshop session towards the end of the exhibition period. The purpose of this session is to collect feedback from residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders on the exhibited documents.
