At the Council Meeting on 8 October 2024, Council resolved to adopt the Public Interest Disclosures Policy. Council also resolved to place the policy on public exhibition for 28 days.

The Public Interest Disclosures Policy seeks to promote a ‘speak-up’ culture for reporting of misconduct.

The policy protects those who speak up from detriment by:

  • Taking active steps to maintain the confidentiality of reports

  • Imposing duties on agencies, leading to appropriate action

  • Investigating or otherwise dealing with complaints appropriately
