Background

In July 2025, we consulted with the community regarding potential changes to parking restrictions in Spurway Drive and Lucinda Avenue. Through this consultation and other feedback from the community, we received requests to consider more extensive changes to parking restrictions.

In particular, some residents have asked for parking to only be permitted on one side of Spurway Drive, to assist with traffic flow. We also received requests to restrict parking on either side of the driveway at 21-23 Spurway Drive to enhance sightlines and turning manoeuvres.

What's being proposed?

In consideration of community feedback and other factors, it is proposed to remove all parking along the north side of Spurway Drive by signposting ‘No Parking’ restrictions.

This aligns with the original design intent of only providing parking along one side of Spurway Drive, with full two-way traffic flow.

Removing parking along the north side will impact fewer existing parking spaces than a restriction on the south side of the road and will also assist in enhancing sightlines at driveways. Minor changes to existing parking restrictions on the south side of Spurway Drive are also proposed to maximise the availability of parking.

Short sections of ‘1/4P’ parking restrictions are also proposed in Spurway Drive and Maitland Place to improve the availability of short-term parking, such as for deliveries.
